Sunway Pyramid @ Kuala Lumpur

Finally took the time to get out of campus and try new places for food!

This time, I went to Sunway Pyramid! The last time I been here was last year. It's just not very convenient to get here by public transportation from my place. It took me 2.5 hours to get here via bus-KTM-LRT-bus! This time, I rented a car! *so proud of myself*

Anyways, if you want to get here by public transport, you should stop at Kelana Jaya LRT station. You will see a bus stop there. Take note of the bus number and board the bus! It only cost about MYR1 per person. (Apologies for not remembering the exact amount). At this station, you can board the buses to other destinations as well, such as Paradigm Mall.

Sunway Pyramid shopping mall is hard to miss! I simply love the decoration and design of the building. If it is convenient for me to get here, I will definitely come here often!

Side note, before I forget, if you want to take the bus back to Kelana Jaya LRT, just wait at the same place where they dropped you. If you are taking a cab, buy a ticket from the counter. DON'T get into the cab and try negotiating! When I first came to Kuala Lumpur, being as naive as I was, I got ripped off! The cab driver charge me about MYR25 to get to Taylor's Lakeside campus from Sunway Pyramid! Attitude of cab drivers here, in Malaysia, is definitely not what I am proud of.

Back to the fun part, you can literally spend the whole day here to shop! Don't worry about dining as they have a wide variety of restaurants and cafes for you to choose from.

If you're coming for entertainments, they have the cinema, Laser Tag, Ice Rink, Karaoke and other stuff. The Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa is connected to the mall. It's a really nice hotel to stay in. May be will blog about that sometime soon. :)

From what I heard, if you are into nightlife, Sunway is the place to go as well. I'm not sure about this as I am not really the clubbing type.

Generally, for shopping, the shops here are the same as other malls, such as Mid Valley, Gardens Mall and Pavillion. It's just a different layout. I would say, the only thing that made me want to come here is the ice skating and Beanieplex(Cinema with bean bags as seats).

This trip, I decide to try Papa John's!

Drinks!
I tried the berry one while my boyfriend tried the tea or something. Actually, I'm not too sure. Anyways, his drink doesn't taste good!
*This is why I like to keep receipts. So that I can keep track of the name to put in my blog! He threw away the receipt :(

First up, appetizers!
Chicken Salad
The chicken salad is delicious and the chicken is perfectly done!

Minestrone Soup
The minestrone soup isn't too bad. Prefer the one from Italiannies though.

Finally the main course! We ordered an EXTRA LARGE pizza for TWO! Boyfriend said that he was feeling very hungry and he actually finished 3/4 of the pizza!

Chicken Super Papa's & Hawaiian BBQ Beef
The pizza here is definitely the best I've eaten. Better than Domino's or Pizza Hut! Another thing that I like is that they allow us to order 'Half and half'. It means that we can order 2 different flavors for one pizza! I no longer have to give in and order what I love too :)

Anyways, I think Hawaiian BBQ Beef is better but boyfriend disagree.

Overall, the food cost less than MYR100(a rough estimation for you guys if you are planning to eat here).

After done eating, we went for a movie! Wanted to try the Beanieplex but they were only showing Insidious2 for that. I don't watch horror movie! ><

Despite not given the chance to try the oh-so-famous Beanieplex, we went ahead to watch Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatball 2. It was the LUXE cinema! Me love <3
Okay, I know the cinema is filled with families and kids, I still love cartoons although I'm like double of the kids' age.

For those who wanna go for a movie date, LUXE is the place to go! Be sure to get the Twin Seats! It is not as nice as Beanieplex but it's still better than the normal ones. ;)

I guess that's all about Sunway Pyramid. Enjoy your time here!

Berjaya Times Square @ Kuala Lumpur

It's one of the biggest shopping mall in KL!

How do you get there?
Take the Monorail to Imbi Station. It will cost you MYR2.10 from KL Sentral if my memory serves me right.

If you are a movie buff, THIS mall is the place to go! They have IMAX here! The only one in KL if I'm not mistaken. Anyways, it's my first time watching a movie here. I watched Escape Plan. The only thing that disappoints me is, there are no couple seats! I think it disappoints my bf more than me. :p

While waiting for our movie to start, I took the time to explore the place. They have 10 levels here! You can literally spend the whole day shopping at this place. And I'm really excited to know that they have my favourite shoe store, SUMMIT! Not to mention that they have this really nice store opposite, Etnic? or something along the line. Will take the time to shop there one day :)

At the ground floor, I manage to find the Famous Piano Stairs! I wanted to try but .. Seems rather weird for an adult to be running up and down the stairs? ><

As I'm writing this post, I realize that I didn't take any pictures of the place. I'm sorry. :(

I was craving for Penang Fried Kueh Tiaw when I head to the city. The best shot of me getting it will be at the food court. So, we went to 'Taste of Asia' Food Court. It is located at the Lower Ground(LG). They have directories on the pillars. It should not be too hard to locate.
Taste of Asia Card
Apparently they do not accept cash. You are suppose to get this card at the counter in front. Your purchase will be deducted from the balance in this card. If you have balance in it which you do not wish to use anymore, you can get it back by returning the card at the counter.

Do take note that they require you to deposit MYR1 for the card. For example, if you give them MYR10 to get a card, your balance in it will only be MYR9. It took me awhile to figure out as the guy at the drinks counter told me that I have insufficient balance to purchase Mineral Water which I just stare at him blankly.

Anyways, moving on ..

I tried Stall No.8. Which sells Nonya Food.

Nonya Fried Kueh Tiaw

Nonya Fried Rice
Both taste good! (Okay lahh .. may be it is not the best in KL, but definitely one of the best I had that satisfy my cravings)

After eating and exploring Low Yatt and Sungei Wang, we came back to Berjaya Times Square to get donuts from Krispy Kreme! They are now on Halloween Theme!

The Mummy

The Pumpkin
The decoration is so cute! I was still full and only wanted to take pictures. So, I didn't get to try them out. May be next time :)
Staff hard at work
We ended up with the normal stuff with a glass of Iced Peach Tea! I just love the tea there!
Custard, Original, Apple(Clockwise from Bottom Left)
Krispy Kreme should really consider getting more table and chairs for their store. We couldn't find any seats. And even when there is an empty table, the staff didn't clear it. We still sat there anyways. By the time we were done eating, the dirty dishes are still there! I guess they were slightly under staff, at that time. Nonetheless, they have one of the best donuts in the city!

This place will be my new favorite place for shopping and food!

Future Sound Asia - TIESTO

Good day, party people! I assume everyone is most probably up by noon? I know I just did. ;)

T-I-E-S-T-O!
Well, the awesome party at Sepang International Circuit was yesterday and I'm sure everyone is still talking about it!

Here's some low quality pictures taken form my phone.

Still rather early

Getting crowded

Even though I'm afraid of heights, I had the courage to climb on my boyfriend's shoulder to get this amazing view! Being tall definitely have their perks.

After snapping two photos, I screamed for him to put me down. It's not fun not being able to bounce to the music(which he commented that I shouldn't move so much when I'm on his shoulders unless I wanna fall).

The staff is quick on their feet. It didn't take long for them to come and ask those who climb on shoulders to come down.

Basically the whole night was like this!

There were beautiful fireworks as well. Game booths, bars, etc. Didn't try anything as I only saw the 'Win prizes here' sign.

They don't allow you to bring in any drinks. Mineral water in there cost about MYR10. Heineken cost MYR15 for one and MYR80 for a 6 pack. If you're not a clubbing person, your option is to drink until the music sounds nice. (Okay Tiesto fans, don't kill me. That was my initial plan but the music was AWESOME!)

Oh another thing, the security check point is ridiculous! They check everything. More strict than the airport security check. And there are still people smoking weed in the there!

But I will have to give them credit for trying to keep things safe in there.

Platinum Mall @ Bangkok, Thailand

Hello Platinum Mall! I was told that I can get a lot of cheap stuff here. As in, things sold are in whole sale prices. So, let's explore!

I guess everywhere in Thailand, you can get basically everything under one roof. Again, here you can find everything you want from trinkets to clothings to well, everything you want.

This store selling undergarments particularly attracted my attention. For those ladies wishing they have those round firm butts, here's the solution to your problem!

For god sake, just go to the gym! Work out! Do more squats! Sitting on your asses won't get you anywhere.

Enough about asses now .. Saw this store that sells really cute stuff for dressing tables. The quality ain't so bad. You get what you paid for, if you know what I mean. Cousin bought one to put facial cotton for about THB180.

Okay, I'm not being a perve here. I just take picture of what catches my attention.
Best present for your best GUY friend!
At this department store, I bought a couple of stuff as well.
Winnie the Pooh Memo Pad & Box
The memo pad is just too cute to resist! I bought all the 3 designs for Winnie the Pooh and bought the butterfly/flowery box to keep it. In my defence, I need it for studies! So that I have cute notes to pin all over my notice board.

After exploring the place, we tried out their food court. The food here is really nice and relatively cheap! You'll need to get one of their cards at the cashier where you can top up and use to pay for your food. It's a bit like 'Touch'nGo'(for Malaysian) & 'EZLink'(for Singaporean).
Card for food court

Serving customers

Crab Meat Mango Salad(I think)

One of the stores there

Tom Yam Kung

Fried Oysters

Pad Thai

Chicken Tom Yam with Glass Noodles
This tom yam is from another store, store number 25 if not mistaken or store 15 which serves the best tom yam in the whole food court, according to another Malaysian lady that I met while eating. The guy made a mistake in serving and I was served with chicken instead of seafood. I went back and told him. He apologize to me and quickly prepare me another one. That's excellent customer service! *thumbs up*
Seafood Tom Yam with Glass Noodles

While eating, I saw this lady sitting alone in the corner. The bag particularly attract my attention as I see people tugging that bag along especially places that sell cheap stuff(whole sale price). So I assume they are business women in the fashion industry. The bag is relatively cheap and can be bought in Platinum Mall and also Chatuchak Market. I think I saw it at Pratunam Market as well. It'll be good for people like me to bring go shopping! Certainly beats having to carry everything back in plastic bags.

After the meal, I went back to one of the stores that is just next to the food court. Something caught my attention. Guess what?
Mugs

The cute design which I think looks really good, tempt me to get them on the spot! It cost me THB190 each. It was of a good quality where it's really thick and doesn't feel all that bad. I just love these two characters from Winnie the Pooh cartoon!

So, after getting the mugs, we headed to Swensen's for dessert!

The Ultimate Sundae Experience
They serve us with plain water.
Cute glass
We decided to try their largest sundae, The EarthQuake! This cost us THB340. We get to choose the flavor of the ice cream served. We were only limited to 8 which was rather little compared to the list of choices we were given!

Here comes The EarthQuake!

On a side note, the cashier there is really good looking! *swoon*

This concludes my Platinum Mall trip!

Enjoy ~

MBK - Largest Shopping Mall @ Bangkok, Thailand

Being a tourist, visiting the famous and biggest shopping mall is a must! The destination of the day was MBK! This mall have 7 levels. Since this was in the middle of the trip, I have to admit that I didn't explore the whole mall as my feet were aching.

Entrance to MBK
At the entrance, they have a stand filled with directory. That makes my life as a tourist much easier! I roughly went through the store names and just went to the places that I want to go.
Directory for MBK
Moving along, we decided to start from the ground floor.

Our breakfast! Saw this by Auntie Anne's and decided to try it out. It taste good while it's hot.

Presentation wise is not as nice as in the ad
Came across this part of the mall where cheap things can be found!

Mom was looking for 'dried longan' and the local directed us to this store. While my travel companions are busy sampling and buying snacks, I took the opportunity to rest and sit on the floor outside the store. The sales lady saw me and brought me a stool which I was really grateful for!

Anyways, their 'dried longan' is really fresh(still yellowish & not blackish colored) and also their Pepper Roasted Pork is really good! Try it if you do walk by.

After buying snacks to bring back to Malaysia, we explore more parts of the mall. There is this particular store that sells paper lamp. I really love the design but the wood used is not really of a good quality.

Another store which attracted my attention is 'Her Hands' Collection'. They sell handmade ladies' accessories.

Assorted pendants to choose from

Ready made stuff

More accessories

and more over here
I couldn't resist buying one for myself, although I don't really mix and match my accessories with my clothes. This particular 'red leaf' pendant goes well with the clothes I was wearing. So, why not?
Mine!
Another thing that we bought at MBK is this!
Salt & Pepper thingyy
I have no idea what are these called. But mom love the design. It'll most probably end up as a decoration than being used. As long as she's happy :)

Side note, Thai people are really superstitious. They believe that if the first customer buys stuff from them, they will generally have good sales over that particular day(I guess a bit like the Chinese mind set). So, you can usually get the best deals in the morning!

Happy bargaining!
