Platinum Mall @ Bangkok, Thailand

Hello Platinum Mall! I was told that I can get a lot of cheap stuff here. As in, things sold are in whole sale prices. So, let's explore!

I guess everywhere in Thailand, you can get basically everything under one roof. Again, here you can find everything you want from trinkets to clothings to well, everything you want.

This store selling undergarments particularly attracted my attention. For those ladies wishing they have those round firm butts, here's the solution to your problem!

For god sake, just go to the gym! Work out! Do more squats! Sitting on your asses won't get you anywhere.

Enough about asses now .. Saw this store that sells really cute stuff for dressing tables. The quality ain't so bad. You get what you paid for, if you know what I mean. Cousin bought one to put facial cotton for about THB180.

Okay, I'm not being a perve here. I just take picture of what catches my attention.
Best present for your best GUY friend!
At this department store, I bought a couple of stuff as well.
Winnie the Pooh Memo Pad & Box
The memo pad is just too cute to resist! I bought all the 3 designs for Winnie the Pooh and bought the butterfly/flowery box to keep it. In my defence, I need it for studies! So that I have cute notes to pin all over my notice board.

After exploring the place, we tried out their food court. The food here is really nice and relatively cheap! You'll need to get one of their cards at the cashier where you can top up and use to pay for your food. It's a bit like 'Touch'nGo'(for Malaysian) & 'EZLink'(for Singaporean).

Serving customers

Crab Meat Mango Salad(I think)

One of the stores there

Tom Yam Kung

Fried Oysters

Pad Thai

Chicken Tom Yam with Glass Noodles
This tom yam is from another store, store number 25 if not mistaken or store 15 which serves the best tom yam in the whole food court, according to another Malaysian lady that I met while eating. The guy made a mistake in serving and I was served with chicken instead of seafood. I went back and told him. He apologize to me and quickly prepare me another one. That's excellent customer service! *thumbs up*
Seafood Tom Yam with Glass Noodles

While eating, I saw this lady sitting alone in the corner. The bag particularly attract my attention as I see people tugging that bag along especially places that sell cheap stuff(whole sale price). So I assume they are business women in the fashion industry. The bag is relatively cheap and can be bought in Platinum Mall and also Chatuchak Market. I think I saw it at Pratunam Market as well. It'll be good for people like me to bring go shopping! Certainly beats having to carry everything back in plastic bags.

After the meal, I went back to one of the stores that is just next to the food court. Something caught my attention. Guess what?
Mugs

The cute design which I think looks really good, tempt me to get them on the spot! It cost me THB190 each. It was of a good quality where it's really thick and doesn't feel all that bad. I just love these two characters from Winnie the Pooh cartoon!

So, after getting the mugs, we headed to Swensen's for dessert!

The Ultimate Sundae Experience
They serve us with plain water.
Cute glass
We decided to try their largest sundae, The EarthQuake! This cost us THB340. We get to choose the flavor of the ice cream served. We were only limited to 8 which was rather little compared to the list of choices we were given!

Here comes The EarthQuake!

On a side note, the cashier there is really good looking! *swoon*

This concludes my Platinum Mall trip!

Enjoy ~

MBK - Largest Shopping Mall @ Bangkok, Thailand

Being a tourist, visiting the famous and biggest shopping mall is a must! The destination of the day was MBK! This mall have 7 levels. Since this was in the middle of the trip, I have to admit that I didn't explore the whole mall as my feet were aching.

Entrance to MBK
At the entrance, they have a stand filled with directory. That makes my life as a tourist much easier! I roughly went through the store names and just went to the places that I want to go.
Directory for MBK
Moving along, we decided to start from the ground floor.

Our breakfast! Saw this by Auntie Anne's and decided to try it out. It taste good while it's hot.

Presentation wise is not as nice as in the ad
Came across this part of the mall where cheap things can be found!

Mom was looking for 'dried longan' and the local directed us to this store. While my travel companions are busy sampling and buying snacks, I took the opportunity to rest and sit on the floor outside the store. The sales lady saw me and brought me a stool which I was really grateful for!

Anyways, their 'dried longan' is really fresh(still yellowish & not blackish colored) and also their Pepper Roasted Pork is really good! Try it if you do walk by.

After buying snacks to bring back to Malaysia, we explore more parts of the mall. There is this particular store that sells paper lamp. I really love the design but the wood used is not really of a good quality.

Another store which attracted my attention is 'Her Hands' Collection'. They sell handmade ladies' accessories.

Assorted pendants to choose from

Ready made stuff

More accessories

and more over here
I couldn't resist buying one for myself, although I don't really mix and match my accessories with my clothes. This particular 'red leaf' pendant goes well with the clothes I was wearing. So, why not?
Mine!
Another thing that we bought at MBK is this!
Salt & Pepper thingyy
I have no idea what are these called. But mom love the design. It'll most probably end up as a decoration than being used. As long as she's happy :)

Side note, Thai people are really superstitious. They believe that if the first customer buys stuff from them, they will generally have good sales over that particular day(I guess a bit like the Chinese mind set). So, you can usually get the best deals in the morning!

Happy bargaining!

Pratunam Market @ Bangkok, Thailand

Getting to Pratunam Market is the most memorable part of the whole trip. I tried their local transportation mode! It was through a canal! The trip from Siam Centre to Pratunam only cost me THB10 one way!

People getting on board
We manage to find this Canal through a friendly Thai lady who is heading the same way. She lead us through a dark road, which is located under a bridge. I was rather suspicious until I ended up at this clearing which is attracting a number of people who are waiting for the boat to arrive.
Waiting for my boat

On the boat
We soon arrive at our destination and everyone quickly got off the boat. It was a really quick process where the boat left the moment it was empty. The lady explained that the boat is usually the main mode of transportation during peak hours as the traffic on the road is really bad. We soon parted ways.
Walking towards Pratunam Market

Can you see it?

Arrived!

More clothes & Food

Cute Owl Bag

Jewellery Stand

Salted Fish

Durians(King of the Fruits)

More fruits
They literally sell everything you can want here. It is very cheap as well!  Moving along now ..
Pawn Shop

Cheap footwear
We came across this mall which is sort of connected to Pratunam Market as the market is actually situated along the walkway. We thought it would be a good idea to take a look at what the mall sells.
Indra Square Mall
From what we could see, it was mostly cheap goods such as watches, ladies' accessories, etc. There is a food court at the top most level as well.

Ladies' Accessories & Footwear

Phone Accessories

Jewellery

Clothes

Level 3 to Food Court

Food Court
Saw this really unique store. Well, it looks different compared to other stores in the building. Thought would take a look.

Clothes

Front View of the store

Hats
We bought some socks for another cousin back at home(as per requested) for THB70 each. It's pure white cotton socks.

I think that basically sums up the Pratunam Market trip. The stuff here is really cheap and it is worth to take a look.

On a side note, do beware of pick pockets wherever you go. Especially to crowded places.
